Link Graveyard

How the dead get dug

A one-page autopsy of the machine: what happens between pasting your URL and watching tombstones rise.

๐Ÿ”—STEP 01

You paste a URL

No signup, no install. We normalize the address and start digging at your homepage.

๐Ÿ•ท๏ธSTEP 02

The crawler walks every page

Breadth-first, same-domain only. Each page's links join the queue: up to 50 pages free, 1,000 with Pro.

โšฐ๏ธSTEP 03

Every link gets a verdict

404, 403, 5xx, timeout or network failure, each with the exact page that links to it.

๐ŸชฆSTEP 04

Tombstones rise live

Results stream in real time. Filter by cause, copy the fix-list free, export CSV with Pro.

Know your corpses

404

Not Found

Page is gone. The classic corpse.

403

Forbidden

Server refuses us. Sometimes a bot-wall, sometimes really locked.

5xx

Server Error

Their server is haunted. Not your fault, still your problem.

0

Timeout

Nobody answered. Down, hanging, or DNS rotted away.

Honest limits, stated plainly

  • Bot walls. Sites with enterprise bot protection sometimes block automated visits. We retry, identify politely, and say so on-screen instead of faking results. No crawler on earth beats those walls.
  • Same domain only. We dig your graveyard, not the whole cemetery. External links are checked but never expanded.
  • No login, no stored reports. Scans run on our server and the results are sent to your browser. We don't store your reports; they are saved in your browser, and so is your Pro license.

Dead link questions, answered

What is Link Graveyard?

Link Graveyard is a free dead link checker: paste a URL and it crawls up to 50 pages of that site, with no signup and no install, and lists every broken link it finds.

What counts as a dead link?

Any link that returns a 4xx or 5xx error, times out, or cannot be reached at all. That covers 404 Not Found, 403 Forbidden, 429 rate limits, server errors, timeouts and DNS or connection failures.

What does each result tell me?

Each dead link shows its status code, the link text, the section of the page it sits in (such as main or footer), and the page it was found on. It also says in plain English what the error means and what to do about it.

Which dead links should I fix first?

Start with the page that holds the most dead links. The fix plan ranks pages by how many dead links each one has, so the first edit clears the most.

Why are some 403 and 429 errors not counted as dead?

A 403 or 429 from another site is usually a bot wall or rate limit aimed at the scanner, not a broken link, so it is reported separately instead of counted as dead. Open it in a normal browser tab: if it loads, it is safe to leave.

Can I hand the fixes to an AI coding agent?

Yes: the Pro PDF report includes a copy-paste prompt for Cursor, Claude Code or any coding agent, listing each page and the exact link text to change. On the free plan, Copy fix-list copies the dead links with their pages and link text as plain text.

Is it free, and what does Pro cost?

Yes, scans of up to 50 pages are free with no signup. Pro is a one-time $19 payment (launch price, $29 regular) with no subscription, and adds 1,000-page crawls, CSV export, a printable PDF report and faster crawling. The watchlist is free.

Does the watchlist monitor my links automatically?

No. The watchlist is free and saved in your browser. It re-checks your links only when you press Check All (up to 50 links per press), so there is no background monitoring and no email alerts.
